Himanshu Shekhar is a media leader with over 16 years of diverse experiences across two of the world’s largest emerging markets, India and Indonesia. Shekhar came to Indonesia in 2010, to lead Mindshare's Unilever Team before being appointed as CEO, to head the country's operations in 2011. Driving new thinking as well as key strategic partnerships in the new and old media, has brought wide acclaim and recognition in his journey at Mindshare Indonesia.
Prior to his Indonesia assignment, Shekhar had served in various leadership roles in India. He was with Mindshare India during 2000-2008, and lastly serving as General Manager Mindshare Fulcrum, the dedicated and celebrated unit of Mindshare India. He was responsible for managing media duties of Hindustan Unilever
Shekhar is an advocate of non-traditional thinking, and he has been pivotal in transforming Mindshare into a strong digital media player. In 2015, Mindshare Indonesia was awarded 'The Mobile Agency of the Year' at The Asia Pacific SMARTIES 2014, an annual award from the Mobile Marketing Association. This was the first for any agency from Indonesia.
Shekhar serves on various industry bodies in Indonesia, including the Advertising Agency Association of Indonesia (AAAI) and the APMF. A graduate in mathematics with honours and an MBA in marketing from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi, India’s premier University.
